Nicole & Chris’ Spring Cielo’s Garden Wedding

Garden weddings. I just can’t get enough of them. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is I’ve always got gardening on my mind so garden weddings are just such a great mix of two things we love – gardening and weddings.

These guys trucked in 4 hours for our meetings! I offered for us to do them via Skype but they were just such go getters and would come in for our 2 hour meetings in the evenings, grab something yummy to eat, and then head home. I do have to say it was so lovely to have them come out and get to chat in person. We always laughed most of the meeting, sharing stories and chatting (sometimes more then planned) and just did what I love to do in meetings – have fun while working on the wedding.

These guys hired us for Day of Coordination, Hourly Consultation and Commissioner Services. We have a couple meeting with our Day of clients but with these guys we then scheduled in their Hourly Consultation whenever and however they want to use the time.

We love doing Full Planning (it’s wonderful getting to be a part of it all!) but we also love when our Day of Coordination clients add on Hourly Consultation. It’s so nice to be able to support them and help them with the planning work they need help on. Not everyone can fit Full Planning in their budget, or maybe they hire us later in the game and now just need some a la carte planning help. Either way we love being able to jump in there and take care of them.

The wedding was at Cielo’s Garden but the wedding party got ready at Fort Garry Hotel and did some fun urban photos in the area before heading out into the country.

I don’t know if you can tell but there is English Ivy in this boutonnière. We adore English Ivy and we think it’s so darling Lauren from Stone House Creative used it here.

This flower girl. She was just the cutest little button and I wanted to take her home so badly!

I also got to marry these two! It’s so nice when you get to know each other and then get to carry that into the wedding day in this special way. I’m always so honoured when my couples ask me to marry them.

Do you see the bleeding heart in Nicole’s bouquet? That is by far our favourite part of it (and there are peonies in this bouquet – so that’s saying something)! It’s just this fun flirty little addition and it’s straight from Lauren’s garden too!

“Bridal bouquet ingredients: peonies (woah momma, these peonies were perfect!), locally grown tulips and ranunculus, rice flower, bleeding heart from my own garden, larkspur, and spray roses along with several varieties of eucalyptus and ivy. I looped the ivy in and around the bouquet and I just love the way that added some natural whimsy.” – Lauren, Stone House Creative

Nicole had a really fun and spring-like vision for her day. Nothing too over the top but just perfectly in place for a spring wedding; for being out in the woods. It was this really warm garden feel with just the right amounts of pinks, oranges and, all sorts of pretty shades of green.

It wouldn’t be a garden wedding without with out a cake covered in greenery!

We often suggested at Cielo’s to put linens on the head table, guest book table, and dessert table. The wooden harvest tables are wonderful but it can be easy to get lost in a sea of brown.

Linens in these specific locations can really make your colour palette and theme come through and you get the added bonus of getting to hide things under those tables and not having guests staring at your feet all night.

One thing I loved about these two is that they were always making each other smile and laugh. It really is true – laugher is such a great foundation to your relationship. If you can learn to laugh and have fun together, and even just get through things with a lighter attitude, you’ll be able to weather the storms better together.
