Kristin & Michael’s Warehouse Wedding

Kristen and Michael hired me for their warehouse wedding. They picked a stunning location: Hut K. If you don’t know Hut K at all it’s a furniture store with a beautiful gallery space in the back. It’s a blank canvas, a space you can really create and personalize all your own. It comes with its challenges including that it is so blank; you have to bring everything in.

Kristen and Michael booked Hourly Consultation to help them with some odds and ends on the planning side of things and also for Day of Coordination to manage everything on the day.

They were so lovely to work with. Always happy and excited for their wedding, always organized and ready to get things done, and always thankful for everyone that was helping them each step of the way.

We can never say enough how much better your engagement will be if you keep focused on thankfulness and not getting stuck worrying about small things. When you’re thankful and excited, while staying on top of your planning, you’ll have a better time all around.

These two had beautiful taste. A mix of warm and welcoming almost Italian style mixed with minimalistic elements. Their dinner was served family-style with multiple courses and dishes and different wines to mix and pear. Four different wines from different regions to be exact. It was a definite unexpected treat for the guests that was a total delight.

A simple seating chart was hung and place cards were at each setting to welcome in the guest to their table into their seat.

A beautiful personal ceremony performed by one of their friends was followed by a cocktail hour with bubbly passed around.

Kristen and Michael really wanted to enjoy the warehouse to its fullest and really embrace the warehouse wedding feel so they set their ceremony and reception in the same space.

No centrepieces were needed. They wanted to leave as much room as possible for the family-style service and multiple wines.

I wish I had a photo of the kitchen space Chew worked in. Those guys sure know how to cater in what’s called an off-location: a place that really doesn’t have the normal amenities. But they really made it work and you would never know the difference.

The bar was sunk back in one of the smaller gallery spaces and was a perfect little getaway to get yourself a drink before heading back to the party.

Instead of trying to really move tables around too much we embrace the space and had guests sit at the tables already.

We spent a good amount of time trying to figure out exactly where the tables would go and opted to simply move in the head table after the ceremony, during cocktail hour, so that the full wall (and all it’s greenery glory) could be used the whole night.

After the ceremony and cocktail hour was the reception with all of its splendour and delicious food – dish by dish – came out.

In the mix of that were memorable speeches by their family and friends.

A big thanks to all the vendors, family and, friends that helped bring together Kristin & Michael’s warehouse wedding:
