Kelsey & Tristan’s Evergreen Village Wedding

Kelsey and Tristan had a beautiful spring wedding at Evergreen Village. Evergreen Village weddings are stunning. If you’re not familiar with Evergreen Village it’s a venue just off the 59, twenty minutes outside the city.

It’s so easy to get to, really convenient, but the property is fully treed; you wouldn’t know you’re just off the highway. There’s multiple locations to have a ceremony, and a built-in tent on the property and lots of space for guest room around during cocktail hour. It’s a great choice for an outdoor wedding but has great amenities with in the tent.

The girls got ready in the cute little restored house on the property. The house’s living room/dining room room has been converted and opened up making a nice big space for all the preparations.

I strongly encourage you to enjoy some bubbly as you’re getting ready. Whether you drink or not a fun cocktail (or mocktail) is perfect to really cheers the beginning of a beautiful day. It’s a nice little symbolic gesture to bring you all together and to get your celebration started off right.

Aren’t these little pyjama sets darling? We just love them.

Tristan got the day started off right, got some of the crying out of the way during the first look, and then it was all laughs and fun and maybe a few more tears during the ceremony.

It melts my heart when I see a Groom so excited to see his Bride. Goosebumps for sure.

Kelsey wanted touches of blue (accents) in through the whole wedding and these little itty-bitty blue flowers in her bouquet are utterly perfect. Paired with the peonies and the eucalyptus – stunning.

Kelsey had great vision for her day from the very beginning. She had beautiful colours and tones she was picking from. A mix of fresh spring vibes meets minimalistic. She loved greys and light blues and whites and touches of green. All colours that we were more than excited to work with.

Kelsey and Tristan ordered some beautiful stationary from Minted. They were able to get their invites, table numbers, and then make their own seating chart with a very similar template. It all worked out very well and balanced beautifully.

Tristan made the wooden frame that the seating chart was attached to. We added in the ribbon, Oak &  Lily added in the greenery and, it all paired perfectly.

Originally she wanted all white linens but we convinced her to consider a light blue option. With the space and the chairs already being white it would’ve been a lot of white and it might not be as welcoming or as warm as she would have liked.

Adding in a little bit more light blue into this already beautiful design was the perfect touch to really accent the florals and the greenery and it made the white that was in the space look elegant and fresh. (Sometimes too much white can end up making a space look cheap and that’s deafly not what we were going for.) This blue was calm yet welcoming and super crisp; perfect for their spring wedding and a great accent inside Evergreen Village.

We were setting up, getting everything organized, when we felt a dramatic change in the temperature. We (the ADE staff) got on our phones and all checked the radar and realized a storm was coming (we had been watching it all day and now it was coming out way).

Guests were starting to take their seats, the wedding party was all waiting in the house for the entrance, so we got things started a little earlier then planned.

Tip: A rain plan is an important element to any organization of a wedding day but moving up a ceremony a few minutes to make sure you don’t get stuck in the rain is also an important part – or Asterix – to any rain plan.

The guests were none the wiser, the Bride and Groom and the wedding party were ready to roll, so we got going.

The wedding party did photos around the grounds until the ceremony. Kelsey & Tristan snuck off for a few photos out in a field just off the property as well.

We got through the ceremony with just a little drizzle at the very end and guests were welcomed inside right away is instead of more mixing and mingling on the patio.

The rain and clouds soon cleared and we got back to enjoying the warm weather outside and enjoying the patio and the spring air.

We always love it when couples opt for something that they can keep later for their guest sign in book or object. It’s really lovely and you can pick something that you’ll actually want to keep or hang in your house.

All they wanted was a cute little cutting cake so we opted for something cute and small, they got a beautiful cutting board from friends that they used as their stand, and we made sure we decorated the table, and picked the properly size table for the cute little cake, and brought around a ton of candles.

It made for a cute little intimate cake table and a fun little cake cutting moment for Kelsey & Tristan.

As you can see the reception was full of lots of stories, a couple inappropriate jokes, lots of love and, lots of laughter.

After all the formal details of the reception were finished the band kicked up the pace, starting playing and, dancing took over the night.
