Cassy & Matt’s Fairytale Wedding

We got started with Cassy & Matt well over a year before their wedding and really just had the best time bringing it all together. The idea of a Fairytale wedding is super fun with a couple like Cassy & Matt because we knew it wasn’t going to be the usual take on it, or over the top in a not so nice way (think Big Fat Gypsy Weddings – that’s too much fairytale)

They have taste and class and we knew we were going to be able to help them bring together their ideas into something they both would love.

When we first got talking Cassy wanted a Disney wedding and Matt wanted lime green. I knew I had my work cut out for me to find a balance between her feminine taste and his love for bright colours and camo.

We had to balance our meetings between their work and family schedule but we always found time to plan, even if the kids came with (which was always a cute distraction).

We started with really trying to define what Cassy & Matt wanted out of their wedding, for their guests, and how we could bring both of their unique tastes into a classy chic ballroom wedding.

For us this starts with a series of questions, some photo referencing, some drawing and of course creating an inspiration board. We made a couple for Cassy & Matt until we got the vision just right.

Once we nailed it in concept it was try to bring it to life. We sourced all the right vendors, collected quotes, went to meetings and worked on some very fun custom elements for Cassy & Matt.

I told Matt that we would find a way to get him his lime green. Not likely in the way he expected (or wanted) but he got the green! We also brought a lot of green into the centre pieces and florals, and brought in the more manly rustic side through the chair and centrepiece boxes.

The celebration started with a bright and sunny outdoor ceremony under the trees. It was a lovely sunny day. It couldn’t have been nicer weather and a more charming setting.

How cute are their kids in this wagon that Matt restored?

“GUYS. I love love loved Cassy’s bouquet, and making it. And holding it. And I may or may not have wanted to keep it! I loved this combination of jewel tones and textures, rich greens and unique touches.

Bridal bouquet ingredients: garden roses (several varieties), standard roses, spray roses, delphinium, sweet pea, and dahlias with several types of greenery.” – Lauren, Stone House Creative

Cassy wanted a Disney wedding but not “that sort of Disney wedding”. We worked through out the planning to find classy and subtle ways to bring the Disney fairytale wedding into her wedding.

We did it through the stationery design, the custom table numbers (hand drawn by Enchanted Moments), attire and venue choices, and little touches of whimsey through the design.
