A Holiday Letter to You, Our Dear Clients

It’s been an interesting year, to say the least.

It’s not at all the 2020 we expected. Back in March, we were so excited for all of our client’s weddings; we had so many amazing things planned with all of them. Lots of personal projects, travel plans, and things on the go as well.

We had two wonderful weddings in March, right before the world turned upside down. We are so so exceptionally thankful that we got to celebrate with those two couples

Wedding seasons are difficult and take a lot out of us, but I think sometimes we don’t realize just how exciting it all is, how joyful it is and, how much we miss it when we don’t have it.

I’m sure you already know this, but most of the wedding industry had very little work this year. A handful of weddings here and there still remained, but like you, we didn’t get to celebrate as we expected. I didn’t get to work much which had its stressful moments too. But that’s not why am writing this holiday newsletter.

I’m writing to talk about the wonderful things that did happen this year. And to share some holiday cheer, some thoughts and reflections, and thank yous.

Our weddings this year were special

Of the weddings we did have this year every single one of them was special, unique, and we were so very thankful to get to be a part of them.

We’re excited to celebrate with you

The weddings we had to postpone we eagerly anticipating them for next year and in the years to follow. We’re so very thankful for all the clients – you – that trusted us through this crazy year. And leaned on us to help them navigate through the “What to do next!?” phase of planning in 2020.

Personal thankfulness

In the midst of all of this work craziness, Marshall and I went into our first year of being in our dream home. Although I didn’t get to work at my “day job” passion too much I got to work here on the land. I got to develop the garden, plant grass (a lawn!), trees, shrubs, lots of tulip bulbs, peonies, and so many amazing things that kept me grounded and frankly sane throughout the summer.

Making the business shiny and new

We did extensive work on our Client Portal (brand new structure!), the back end of the business; to make everything fresh, squeaky clean, and better. Knowing that we’ll be able to celebrate again soon, and we’ll be swamped with work, we wanted to be ready for that. We’re so happy with clients being able to adapt to the new systems, proud of our offerings, and so happy to see it so much more functional for everyone.

SO ready to learn more

I funnelled all the other energies into different projects. I canned veggies, learned all sorts of new DIY tricks and hacks, organized top to bottom, got a ridiculous amount of puppy cuddles, and learn how to use a few more power tools. It all might sound very home-centric but so many of these skills I bring right into our wedding planning. As you know, off-location and tent venue weddings are our speciality. So it’s fun to be able to have a little more time to finesse some skills that can be brought into that application too.

Going into 2021 here some things we’re dreaming for:

  • An amazing 2021 wedding season with so many wonderful couples
  • An epic garden with more veggies then I know what to do with, giving me the opportunity to be generous with the excess
  • Lots more puppy cuddles, and hopefully some fostering too
  • Continuing to train our amazing Lead Coordinators so that they can take on more weddings
  • Finishing the property and having grass in the front yard (no more mud, thanks)
  • Getting chickens! You better believe you’re going to see a lot of Insta stories and Tiktoks about them when we do
  • Continuing to build amazing vendor connections, stay up-to-date on who’s new, and what’s offered, so that we can support you, the clients, and continue to take care of our vendor community
  • I’d like to learn how to crochet, so we’ll see how that goes over the winter
  • Hopefully, some travel. Even if that means just camping here in there

And I have some wishes for you!

I’m sending you all my love, energy, peace for an amazing and healthy 2021. That you’re filled with joy, laughter, comfort for the new year to come, and that you get to, in whatever form, be surrounded with those you love through this holiday season.

Cheers to a wonderful 2021, and all the adventures it brings!

Happy holidays!
