Start drinking Green Tea

Green tea has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits. Those who drink green tea have found that it has helped improve skin tone, reduce acne, and help protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Not only can you drink green tea but you can also use it as a beauty mask to reap even more benefits from this magic tea!

Exfoliate

Sometimes your skin’s pores can get clogged causing redness or breakouts, which no bride wants on her wedding day. To help reduce this it is important to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Exfoliating will help get rid of any unwanted skin buildup by removing dead or dry skin cells. This will help leave your skin soft and smooth on your big day.

Drink lots of water

Drinking enough water is important for your overall health and therefore not a surprise that your skin will also benefit from it. Start drinking increased amounts of water at least a couple weeks before your wedding. Lack of hydration can cause your skin to be dry and flaky and no one wants that, especially a bride. By drinking enough water (approximately 8 glasses a day) you will help keep your skin hydrated and glowing for your wedding day!

Moisturize

Moisturizing is important as it will help your skin look and feel younger by improving the elasticity and keeping it hydrated. The best time to apply a moisturizer is right after a bath or shower when your skin is still wet. Your pores will be open and the moisture will help absorb the lotion into your skin. Moisturize daily with a lotion that best fits your skin type for that lasting bridal glow! (Tip: Coconut oil is SO nice to use and all natural)

Limit Sun Exposure

It’s no secret that the sun can be harmful to your skin. In order to protect yourself make sure to apply a moisturizer that contains an SPF of at least 15 or more and ALWAYS wear sunscreen if you are going to be out in the sun! Many brides want that sun kissed look on their wedding day but no wants those ugly tan lines! Instead of taking in the harmful rays, cover up and consider a spray tan instead. Make sure you go a couple days prior to your wedding day so there are no streaky surprises and always do a test run first!

Eat Healthy

What you eat can have a huge impact on your skin. Try and avoid foods that contain lots of sugar. Sugar produces insulin which can damage collagen and cause unwanted wrinkles. Fruits and vegetables are your friend! They are full of antioxidants which help protect your skin from daily irritants such as pollution and sunlight. You will want to eat items that are packed with vitamin C such as blueberries, broccoli, spinach and oranges as these produce collagen that can help strengthen your skin. Vitamin E enriched foods such as almonds, avocadoes and hazelnuts will help protect your skin from cell damage. A healthy diet can go along way! Diet changes, however, will not be seen instantly so you want to start at least 4-8 months prior to your wedding to fully be able to notice the changes to your skin. Trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Get Plenty of Rest

Sleep should be an important part of your beauty routine! While you are sleeping your skin produces new collagen which helps prevent wrinkles and keep you looking younger. It is especially important to get plenty of rest the night before your wedding as sleep enhances blood flow which allows you to wake up to that healthy glow! Lack of sleep can also cause dark circles and puffiness under the eyes which you don’t want in all those wedding photos.

Follow these tips and your skin will be glowing on your wedding day!
