A: What to wear to a wedding? I always wear a dress to weddings.

I view weddings as a very chic and elegant time, even if it’s a tent, barn, or in the backyard. I wear a dress, because firstly who doesn’t like wearing a dresses? I, also like to fit in with the wedding, theme and colours. I try and pick accenting colours; something that will complement the rest of the theme. To me there’s nothing worse than wedding vendor sticking out like a sore thumb. I also pick what I do for other more strategic reasons. I don’t want to be in a pant suit because when I see a woman in a pant suit I usually don’t view her as all that much fun or approachable (and I’m a very confident person, so I can imagine how others might feel too).

A wedding is supposed to be a crazy fun time. The last thing I want is someone that’s intimidated to come up to me because they think I’m too intense. Us event planners already hear a lot about vendors that take themselves just a little bit too seriously or are too intense or militant (picture a drill Sargent on a hot summers day). I never want someone (a guest or client alike) to think I or my staff are rude, angry or, not there to serve and have fun (while working of course) at any wedding or event we’re a part of. Like I always say “If you’re not having fun you’re probably not doing it right”. So, the long and the short of it is I wear dresses, for many more reasons then it just being a dress and something pretty.
