2019 Year in Review

Wow, 2019 was quite the year. It was busy with lots of wonderful, challenging, inspiration and, memorable moments.

Some highlights:

  • 32 weddings
  • A handful of other events
  • We hired new staff
  • Took an amazing Fam trip with the WPIC to Cartagena Columbia
  • Made some HUGE changes to our Full Planning Package to make it more accessible, budget-friendly and, customizable for ALL couples (because everyone deserves all the help they can get)
  • Shared and blogged all year and added some amazing content to help you all that much more (Yes, I’m proud; this was a big goal for us this year so I’m thrilled we made it happen)
  • My sister got married!! (Can you believe this was the first time I was a Bridesmaid/Maid of Honour – and of course the Wedding Planner)
  • And just all-around enjoyed making changes to make our services better

I know, that sounds sale-y, but I love getting to tweak and improve to make our jobs easier and to make our clients feel more supported. If you’ve talked to me about business at all my #1 goal is to take the stress of my clients.

I hate stress, I hate being stressed, I hate seeing stress, I hate how stress can affect my clients, their engagement, their family time, and – of course – their wedding day. If there’s anything I can do to make our processes, support, and meetings better I try it.

We’ve been in business now for 8 years (yay!!), I’ve been in the industry for 14 years and, we’ve had 200+ weddings now. With that much time and experience, you better believe we’ve seen a lot and have been able to adjust as we need and experience different weddings.

I love a good challenge, I love new experiences because it just makes us better (BTS: after each wedding, we  – as staff – have a debrief time. We go over the whole wedding/event; what went well, what didn’t, what we could do to support each other better, what I – Amanda – can do to support my staff). It might sound intense – and it kinda is – but we just want to do well for our clients!)

Ok, enough serious talk, let’s get to the fun of reviewing all the wonderful things that have happened in 2019.

We don’t have all the photos back (yet) but here’s a highlight of many of our 2019 weddings.

Carina & Ryan‘s Cielo’s Garden Wedding

We have to just pause for a second on this one because LOOK AT THAT BOUQUET. It was just HUGE. It’s even more stunning then this photo can show. Stunning (make by the lovely Stone House Creative).

Carly & Riley’s wedding – Cielo’s Garden

Their family was just wonderful. You could feel the love and excitement for Carly & Riley in the air – no joke – and it just was so warm and cosy. It was just such a wonderful loving day.

The candlelight was just so lovely in there, I just had to show you a little more with this wedding too.

Selina & Daniel’s Cielo’s Garden wedding

Jana & James – Niakwa Country Club

Delilah & GabeStarlit Point

These girls were just the cutest so they made the post.

Delilah is such a babe, so she gets a photo all to her fierce self.

Wumi & Gabriel’s Hawthorn Estates wedding

Erin & Brett

Jena & EvanSt Boniface Golf Course / Inn at the Forks

I got to bring Sully (the dog) over to Jena right before the ceremony (and get the flower girl ready to walk her down). I have to say Jena’s reaction to seeing Sully for the first time that day was the highlight of the wedding season for me. Moments like that on wedding days get me (and yes, make me cry). Being THE BIGGEST dog fan and ultra dog mom I just can’t help it when someone is just as pumped about their dog as I am. It was just an utter joy flowing over sorta moment.

Laura & Cristian – Leo Mol & St Charles Country Club

Linda & BradenManitoba Club & Fort Garry Hotel

I just have to point out how amazing Linda’s dresses were. She picked SO well and they looked so perfect in all the settings their day brought them to. Linda, you’re one classy lady.

After a busy wedding season, we went right into late fall and planning all our winter events and 2020 weddings. In the mix of all of that, I had the opportunity to go to Columba with the WPIC (Wedding Planner Institute of Canada). I jumped right on that, took over their IG for the trip and had the most wonderful time.

It was a FAM trip (familiarization trip) where we got wined, dinned, and toured around the beautiful Cartagena and all it’s charming boutique hotels, resorts and, venues. It was a whirlwind trip but such a wonderful experience.
